Sticky Honey Garlic Glazed Salmon

Hello dearies, Granny Liza here! Today, I’m sharing one of my most requested recipes – a Sticky Honey Garlic Glazed Salmon that’s pure comfort and joy. This dish is a true testament to how a few simple ingredients can create something truly spectacular and make any evening feel special.

Oh, this Sticky Honey Garlic Glazed Salmon, it’s been a lifesaver in my kitchen for decades! I remember first making a version of this when my children were just wee babes, needing something both nutritious and quick. It quickly became a weeknight dinner hero, perfect for those busy evenings. It’s truly a family favorite, and even my grandchildren ask for it by name. Serve it with a simple side like these perfect roasted asparagus for a complete meal.

Ingredients

  • 4 (6 oz/170g) salmon fillets, skin on or off
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce (low sodium preferred)
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for a little kick)
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds, for garnish
  • 2 tablespoons fresh chives or green onions, chopped, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup, my dear.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, and red pepper flakes (if you’re feeling a bit spicy!). This is your lovely glaze.
  3. Pat the salmon fillets dry with a paper towel. Season both sides lightly with salt and pepper. Don’t be shy, but don’t overdo it either, we have the glaze!
  4. Place the salmon fillets on the prepared baking sheet. Brush a generous amount of the honey garlic glaze over each fillet.
  5. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the salmon flakes easily with a fork. Halfway through cooking, give them another brush with that beautiful glaze to make sure it’s nice and sticky.
  6. If you want an extra sticky, caramelized crust, you can carefully broil for the last 1-2 minutes, watching it like a hawk so it doesn’t burn, my sweet.
  7. Remove from the oven, garnish with sesame seeds and fresh chives or green onions. Serve immediately and watch everyone’s eyes light up!
